Maintenance Condition Assessment Program (MCAP)

The Maintenance Condition Assessment Program (MCAP) is an ongoing program with the North Carolina Department of Transportation involving the assessment of randomly selected sections of roadway. WEI uses two-man teams to record information on a Tablet PC with ArcPad software. To mark the segments, twelve-inch walking measuring wheels and vehicles equipped with a Distance Measuring Instrument (DMI) are used. The information is then uploaded directly to NCDOT each week. Each quarterly inspection cycle has been completed ahead of schedule.
